Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer and songwriter for several years. She was raised by her mother within the USA. Her childhood was filled with racist taunts and felt unloved. Her confidence began to grow at the age of nineteen when she appeared in an audition. She was praised by the judges for her vocal ability. Not only did it boost her confidence but her ambitions transformed. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. At the age of 23 she started her professional career, making her first appearance on Broadway with Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot She played The Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as critical praise. The following year, she joined the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. She is a popular singer. she has also recorded an album and a musical. In addition, she has spoken out in support of LGBT concerns.
