Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9th, 1976 at Beaumont Puy in Domme. At a young age, her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mother encouraged her passion of drama and theater. The passion for theater was the one that overshadowed her initial wish to be the first primatologist. She rose to prominence as a child actor quickly and enjoyed enormous achievement. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was an international box-office hit, receiving accolades at awards galas around all over the world. Amelie is the most successful French film across the US. The popularity of the film has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, from British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
